Client Application Specification - ODYSSEY
The client application currently in development is called ODYSSEY. It is a modern email client, and in addition can automatically handle encryption and compression of email. It can also create and send Business Documents, and browse Catalogs.

It is currently being developed in Delphi, as this is what I know. The API is not language specific, so my decision to write the 'reference implementation' of the client in Delphi should not be a concern. By writing in Delphi and avoiding calls to the Windows API I should be able to have a Kylix port of the Client when Kylix is released. Kylix is the Linux port of Delphi, which promises to make a huge impact on the number of available applications on Linux.

The first beta release of ODYSSEY should be available in early May 2001.
